Louise Williams joined The Raphael Ensemble in March 1996.
Louise studied the violin with Manoug Parikian in London and Ivan Galamian in New York. In 1979 she became a founder member of The Endellion String Quartet. After five years she left to study organic gardening and to spend time on an ashram in India.
Returning to music in 1986 she joined The Chilingirian Quartet as violist and after another five years left to start a family.
Louise made many recordings with The Chilingirian Quartet, notably the complete Bartok and Dvorak String Quartets, and has broadcast worldwide. In the U.K. she has also given many solo recitals on both violin and viola, at venues including The Wigmore Hall, South Bank, Bath Festival and for the B.B.C. She has also performed Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante with The English Chamber Orchestra as both the solo violinist and the solo violist.
Louise plays regularly with The Lindsay Quartet as well as the Chilingirian and Endellion Quartets, and is a member of a piano quartet in Belgium and a trio for piano, clarinet and violin/viola in London.
Future plans include recording the Mozart String
Quintets with The Lindsay Quartet.
